📤 Transfer out

- Make sure no server or client transfer prohibited status is active for the domain to be transferred.

- To start the outgoing transfer, contact the gaining registrar for information on their incoming transfer procedure.

🧩 Contact properties
To add contact properties for .AU (RegistryAU) to a contact, follow the instructions in the ➤ Contact properties KB-article up until step #2. Once you select the .AU (RegistryAU) contact properties option, the fields shown below appear.

- Company reg. number (COMPANY-NUMBER): Company registration number of the registrant organisation.
- Use the official registration number issued by the relevant corporate or business registry.
- Applies to companies and other registered organisations.
⚠️ Ensure the company registration number corresponds to the legal entity. Incorrect or inconsistent data may affect the registrant’s eligibility under .AU rules.

- ID card no. (IDCARD-OR-PASSPORT-NUMBER): Identification number for the registrant (individuals).
- Provide the number from a valid ID document (for example passport or national ID).
- Used primarily when the registrant is an individual (citizen or resident).
⚠️ Use only valid identification details belonging to the registrant. Inaccurate information may prevent verification of eligibility.

- .AU domain relation (AU-DOMAIN-RELATION): Describes how the domain name relates to the registrant.
- 1 – Exact match / acronym / abbreviation of the registrant’s company, trading name, organisation/association name or trademark.
- 2 – Closely and substantially connected to the registrant (for example products, services, events or initiatives of the registrant).
- 3 – Otherwise authorised to use the name (for example a license agreement or other authorisation).
⚠️ Select the option that best describes the relationship. The registry may ask for supporting documentation if the relation is unclear.

- .AU policy reason (AU-POLICY-REASON): Optional field used to describe the justification or allocation reason for the domain name under .AU policy rules.
- Use this field to add extra context for compliance purposes when needed.
- May help when the registry requests clarification.
⚠️ Only provide accurate policy reasoning. Incorrect data may impact eligibility or rights validation.

- .AU registrant type (AU-DOMAIN-REGTYPE): The registrant’s category (legal/person/entity type).
- Select the category that matches the registrant’s real-world eligibility category.
- Used by the registry to validate Australian presence and eligibility.
⚠️ Ensure the registrant type matches the registrant’s documentation and eligibility basis.

- .AU Australian presence (AU-DOMAIN-AUSPRESENCE): Indicates the basis of Australian presence (citizen, permanent resident, registered company, ABN holder, etc.).
- Select the presence basis that applies to the registrant.
- Must be consistent with the registrant’s documents and identifiers (ACN/ARBN/ABN/ID etc.).

- Click “Save properties” to confirm adding properties to the contact. Once saved, you can use this contact as the registrant contact for creating, transferring in or updating .AU domains.
