🛑 Revoke/Bad WHOIS procedure

The .BD registry (BTCL) may place a domain in a restricted or suspended state if:

  • The registrant data is incomplete, inaccurate or cannot be verified.
  • Required supporting documents (for example trade licence, registration certificate or official letters) are not provided within the requested timeframe.
  • The domain is used in a way that violates applicable laws, BTCL’s registration policy or the .BD naming rules.

During such procedures, BTCL may:

  • Block transfers to other registrars.
  • Block contact or nameserver updates.
  • Suspend the domain so it no longer resolves.
⚠️
Important:
• The registrant may be contacted directly by BTCL or by our support team with a request to correct data or provide documentation.
• If the registrant does not respond or fails to correct the data within the timeframe set by BTCL, the domain may remain suspended or be deleted by the registry.
• Once BTCL confirms that the issue is resolved, most restrictions will be lifted automatically.
1
Ensure the registrant monitors the registrant email address for messages from BTCL about data corrections or documentation requests.
2
Have the registrant provide the requested corrections or documents within the indicated timeframe when requested.
3
After BTCL confirms the case is resolved, verify that domain status is back to normal. If not, contact our support department for more information.
