  • Lookup the contact you wish to add the properties to and open it. Next, you're going to add additional properties to the contact. In this case, you will choose the .BE(Dnsbe) option.Once you've selected the .BE properties, you'll be directed to the page where you can submit the requested information.

  • Fill out the data as requested by the form and click save properties when you're done.

Transfer in

To transfer in a .BE domain, follow the procedure below:

  • Create a contact handle, or search for a contact handle already created with valid data to use for the transfer. For a detailed description of how to create a contact handle, check the contacts knowledgebase article.
  • Initiate the transfer through the Domain Manager / API / Third party APP. For a detailed description of how to initiate a transfer through the Domain Manager, check the initiate transfer knowledgebase article.
  • DNS-Belgium will send an email to the registrant asking them to approve the transfer with the authcode. Once this has been done the transfer will complete.
Troubleshooting

Take Note: If a transfer does not complete instantly and returns the message 'authcode not required' there is no authcode required due to the fact an internal transfer is requested.

If this is the case re-initiate the transfer without the authcode and follow the procedure below:

  • DNS Belgium will send an FOA with an authcode to accept the transfer to the registrant email address.
  • Have the registrant accept the FOA sent by DNS Belgium with the authcode and the process will continue. Until the registrant accepts the transfer, the status will be 'Transfer is pending approval by registry'.
  • After the approval, the transfer will complete shortly.

Trade

To successfully change the registrant for a .BE domain, follow the procedure below.

  • Create a contact handle, or search for a contact handle already created with valid data to use for the Registrant change. For a detailed description of how to create a contact handle, check the contacts knowledgebase article.
  • Update the domain to the new registrant contact, an acknowledgment of billables is needed. For a detailed description of how to update domains through the Domain Manager, check the domain update knowledgebase article.

Take note: Keep in mind that the Designated agent option is not available for .BE.

  • Once you've successfully initiated the update, DNS Belgium will send an FOA with an authcode to accept the transfer to the registrant email address.
  • Have the registrant accept the FOA sent by DNS-belgium with the authcode and the process will continue. Until the registrant accepts the transfer, the status of the update will remain pending.
  • After the approval, the registrant change will complete real-time.

Transfer out

To transfer out a .BE domain you're going to need an authcode.

Different from other ccTLD's, the authcode for .BE domains can be requested by/for the registrant through the DNS Belgium website. Enclosed in the registry WHOIS-tool there is an option to send the authcode. The authcode will always be sent to the registrant e-mail address.

Once the authcode is received, inform with the gaining registrar/provider to initiate the transfer from their end and supply them with the authcode.

  • Take note: an authcode can only be generated a maximum of four times. Then it's restricted for a time period of 7 days before the authcode can be requested again.
