Transfer out

To transfer out a .NO domain, you're going to need an authcode.

To obtain the authcode through our portal, login to the portal, go to the domain overview and lookup the domain you want to retrieve the authcode for.

Provide the authcode to the registrant and have him/her request the transfer with his/her new registrar.

Add Contact properties

To add contact properties for .NO (Norid) to a contact, go to the Contact properties knowledge base article and follow the instructions up until step #2. Once you've selected the .NO contact properties option, the below options will show up on screen;

Submit the data as requested by the form and click save properties when you're done.

Identity number In this field, the Norwegian company number (Legal entities) or the PID number (Private individuals) belonging to the registrant has to be submitted.

Important

!!In case you do NOT have an applicant declaration, only add the Identity number and skip to step 5!!

When you do not have an applicant declaration, you only need to submit a PID-number or Norwegian company number in the contact properties. Our create/transfer process has an automated applicant declaration handler woven into the create/transfer flow. For information on obtaining a PID-number, go to the PID-number section of this knowledge base article.

Please note that the below fields are only required in case you manually requested an applicant declaration. The Version number, Accept name and Accept date can be found on the applicant declaration.

Version Number  In this field, the Applicant Version Number has to be specified. The current version number is '3.2'.

Accept name In this field specify the name of the person who gives consent and is mentioned on the applicant declaration.

Important

Company

When creating/transferring domains for a Norwegian company, make sure the accept name in the contact properties is a one on one match with the name of the authorized person mentioned on the applicant declatration.

Private Individual

When creating/transferring domains for a Norwegian private individual, make sure the accept name in the contact properties is a one on one match with the name on the applicant declatration.

Accept date In this field, you specify the date on which the applicant declaration was issued.

You've now successfully added additional properties for .NO (Norid) domains to a contact.


PID number

Important

To create/transfer in a .NO domain for a private individual who resides in Norway, you'll need a Personal ID number (PID-number in short) that confirms the registrant identity and proofs the fact that the registrant resides in Norway.

The PID-number is necessary to auto generate an applicant declaration during the create/transfer request, or, manually request an applicant declaration prior to requesting a create/transfer for .NO.

A PID-number for Norwegian company's is not necessary, you can use the company number instead and ignore the steps below for Norwegian companies.

To obtain a PID-number for a Norwegian resident, follow the procedure below;

Important

The information you submit has to be correct and valid, otherwise, you will not be able to request a PID number. Norid checks the data and does not accept false or incorrect data.

Once submitted and if correct, you'll be directed to the page below. Optionally you can have the PID number sent to an email address of your choice.

You have now successfully requested a PID-number. The PID-number is a requirement when requesting creates/transfers for Norwegian private individuals. The PID-number is used in the contact properties for registrant contacts that are used for .NO creates/transfers.

Applicant declaration

An applicant declaration is a requirement form the .NO registry to be able to register domains for Norwegian companies and private individuals.

Important

Realtime Register also offers an automated applicant declaration flow in .NO create/transfer requests, but in case you wish to manually request an applicant declaration to use for .NO creates/transfers for a Norwegian company/private individual, this section provides all the information on how to request an applicant declaration.

To request an applicant declaration for .NO domains, follow the procedure below.

Select whether you're requesting an applicant declartation for a private individual or a company (organization) and click next.

After selecting the individual person option, you'll be directed to the page below. Submit the requested information (PID-number and domains) and click continue. For more information on obtaining a valid PID number, go to the PID-number section of this knowledge base article.

Important

A maximum of 5 domains can be registered with one applicant declaration.

Once submitted, you'll be directed to the page below. Accept the conditions in the applicant declaration and click continue.

Either download the applicant declaration or have it sent to an email address of your preference.

You have now successfully requested an applicant declaration for a private individual. The information on the applicant declaration is used in the contact properties of the registrant contact you're going to use for the .NO domains you submitted along with the PID-number you've requested earlier.

Company (organization)

After selecting the organization option, you'll be directed to the page below. Submit the requested information (9 digit Norwegian organization number and domains) and click continue.

Important

A maximum of 5 domains can be registered with one applicant declaration.

Once submitted, you'll be directed to the page below. Submit the name of an authorized person for the company you're requesting the applicant declaration for, accept the conditions in the applicant declaration and click continue.

Now either download the applicant declaration or have it sent to an email address of your preference.

You have now successfully requested an applicant declaration for an organization. The information on the applicant declaration is used in the contact properties of the registrant contact you're going to use for the .NO domains you submitted along with the company number you've submitted when requesting the applicant declaration.
