Customize and set up notification rules

The ninth step is to setup notification rules in your Realtime Register account to keep the various employees/applications in your organisation informed considering information that is relevant for them to ensure continuity of all the various processes in your Realtime Register account.

In order to define which notifications are sent to which user/application applicable to your organisation's needs, you can customize notification rules through the Domain Manager. For example all financial notifications can be configured to be sent to your administrative employees and in turn all technical notifications can be sent to the applications/support employees in your organisation.

For an instruction on how to setup in what in our opinion are the must have notification rules, continue reading down below.

Login to the Domain Manager and go to Account details > Notification rules

Once logged in, you'll reach the page below on which all active notification rules are displayed. By default a generic event, which cannot be deleted, is setup in your account and delivers notifications to your admin user. We advise to leave the generic event as is and create notification rules for all the notifications you wish/need to receive. For each notification rule you're able to specify which users need to receive the notification and through which method (Email or Queue).

In the instruction below we'll provide an example on notification rules that in our opinion are critical to setup as they will keep you informed the balance available in your account, and inform you regarding domain renewals that will be executed in your account against the expected costs. The instructions below can be used for any form of user role, the notification rules we advise you to setup regardless of your specific needs and wishes are;

  • WatermarkReachedEvent: provides a notification through email/queue whenever a your account balance reaches a watermark setup in your account.
  • DepositEvent: Provides information on deposit results whenever you make a deposit into your account
  • DomainExpiryReportEvent: Provides information on domains that are up for renewal in your account against the costs of the renewals and your account balance level at the time the notification is sent.

To setup the above notification rules, follow the instruction below.
