WHMCS Domain Transfer Service

How to enable DTS in the WHMCS domain module

This article explains how to enable DTS integration in the Realtime Register WHMCS domain module, what to prepare before switching it on, and how to roll out the newer WHMCS module improvements in a controlled way.

Use this guide when you want to connect the WHMCS domain module to Realtime Register’s Domain Transfer Service (DTS) and reduce operational risk during setup.

Important: Configure DTS in the Realtime Register portal before enabling it in WHMCS. The DTS hook is designed to send domains to the DTS tool after a customer has paid the renewal invoice. This process works on a best-effort basis.

Before you begin

  • Update to a recent version of the Realtime Register WHMCS domain module.
  • Make sure DTS is activated for your Realtime Register account.
  • Review your DTS settings in the Realtime Register portal, including scheduling, lock settings, and any transfer behavior you want to control.
  • Generate the DTS API key in the Realtime Register portal.
  • Decide whether you want to use an email template to inform customers about the transfer flow.
