Domain status information
Anyone who's used our portal knows them, statuses like 'client transfer prohibited' or even 'server_hold' of 'server transfer prohibited'. But what exactly do all the available statuses mean? Continue reading below and find out!
First off, there are three categories for statuses which can be set by either the reseller, Realtime Register or the managing Registry. Additional there are other statuses that a domain can hold when a domain is pending renewal for example. The various statuses and in depth information can be found below.

The Registrar category represents statuses applied by the Registrar (Us) |

The Server category represents statuses applied by the managing registry (Our suppliers). |

The client category
All statuses in the client category can be activated/deactivated by the Reseller. Want to remove client statuses? Login to your account and update the domain to the desired status. For instructions on updating domains, go to the Update domain(s) kowledge base article
CLIENT_TRANSFER_PROHIBITED | Once active, Client transfer prohibited means that the domain on which the status is set cannot be transferred. |
CLIENT_RENEW_PROHIBITED | Once active, Client renew prohibited means that the domain on which the status is set cannot be renewed. |
CLIENT_UPDATE_PROHIBITED | Once active, client update prohibited means that the domain on which the status is set cannot be updated. |
CLIENT_DELETE_PROHIBITED | Once active, client delete prohibited prevents domains from being deleted. |
CLIENT_HOLD | Once active, client hold prevents the domain from resolving. |
The registrar category
All statuses in the registrar category can be activated/deactivated by Realtime Register employees. Keep in mind that we do not apply any of the registrar statuses for no good reason. Usually, registrar statuses on your domains are related to abuse. Want to remove registrar statuses? The server category
All statuses in the server category care set by the managing registry for the domain on which the lock is active. Registries do not apply these locks for no reason and in many cases is also related to abuse. There is one big side note though; registries who activate these statuses do not provide pollers in which they inform our system that a server status has been removed. If you run into any server statuses and are unaware of the reason why the status is active, contact support. In many cases, the status has already been removed by the registry and with a sync from support, the status can be removed.

Other domain statuses
Aside from the Client, Registrar and server statuses, domains can hold various other statuses as well providing an indication on which part of the lifecycle a domain is in or if nameservers are connected to a domain for example. These statuses will be displayed on the domain detail page. An example image below shows you what the statuses look like. We'll explain the different domain statuses one by one.
Ok status Indicates the domain status is ok and the domain resolves. |

Inactive status Indicates no namservers are connected to the domain. |

Pending transfer status Indicates a domain transfer is pending. |

Pending renew status Indicates a domain renewal is pending. |

Pending update status Indicates a domain update is pending. |
|
Pending delete status Indicates the domain has passed the expirydate. |
|
Redemption period Indicates a domain is in the redemption period and requires a restore to start resolving again. |

Pending validation status Indicates the domain is waiting for registrant contact validation to be completed. |

Expired status Indicates the domain has passed the expirydate but can still be renewed. |

Irtpc transfer prohibited status Indicates the domain is IRTPC transfer locked. If the managin registry allows it, you can remove this status with a domain update. |
