The general tab

The general tab in the TLD metadata overview provides details on general information regarding all the TLD's we offer. In this article, we'll zoom in on the information that's actually displayed here.

Log in to your Realtime Register account and go to Support > TLD Metadata. By default, you'll land on the general metadata tab as shown below.

Various pieces of information are detailed in the General TLD metadata table. We'll go over them one by one.

Extension(s)

Here the extension(s) are defined for which the metadata is applicable.

Provider

Here the provider of the extension is defined.

Domain syntax

Here the domain syntax is defined for the extension. MinLength defining the minimum amount of characters allowed for the extension, idnSupport defining the support for IDN domains, and max length defining the maximum amount of characters allowed for the extension.

Namerservers

Here the nameserver requirements are defined for the extension. Max defining the maximum amount of nameservers allowed, required defining the requirement of nameservers to be defined for registration, and min defining the minimum amount of namservers required for the extension.

Registrant

Here the type of registrant that is allowed is defined for the extension. OrginizationAllowed defining the registrant to be able to register as an organization and organizationRequired defining if the registrant is obliged to be an organization.

Admin contacts

Here the specifics regarding the admin contact(s) are defined for the extension. OrganizationAllowed defining the option to create admin contacts as an organization, max defining the maximum amount of admin contacts, organizationRequired defining if the admin contact is obliged to be an organization, required defining the obligement to use an admin contact, and min defining the minimum amount of admin contacts required.

Billing contacts

Here the specifics regarding the billing contact(s) are defined for the extension. OrganizationAllowed defining the option to create billing contacts as an organization, max defining the maximum amount of billing contacts, organizationRequired defining if the billing contact is obliged to be an organization, required defining the obligement to use a billing contact, and min defining the minimum amount of billing contacts required.

Tech contacts

Here the specifics regarding the tech contact(s) are defined for the extension.  OrganizationAllowed defining the option to create tech contacts as an organization, max defining the maximum amount of tech contacts, organizationRequired defining if the tech contact is obliged to be an organization, required defining the obligement to use a tech contact, and min defining the minimum amount of tech contacts required.

Transfer authcode

Here the requirement of an authcode to transfer a domains for the extension is defined. Required defining an authcode is required for transfers, No defining no authcode is used for transfers, and Optional defining an authcode is optional for transfers.

Client statuses

Defining the client statuses that can be active for the extension.

Zone check

Defining if a zone check is a requirement for the extension. When the checkbox in the table is checked, a zone check is a requirement from the managing registry. A good example of a TLD that requires a zone check is the .DE ccTLD. If a zone check is required, it's detailed as shown in the image below, hovering over the info icon will show you where the by the managing registry set requirements are described and where an active zone check is regularly available.

Creation requires prevalidation

Here the requirement of contact validation prior to creates is defined. When the checkbox in the table is checked, contact validation has to be completed in full prior to initiating a domain create. A good example of a TLD that requires prevalidation is the .DK ccTLD. for more information on contact validation, check the contact validation knowledgebase article.

Validation category

Here, if required, the validation category is defined that is required for the extension. There are 5 in total.
