Update a domain to a Basic DNS zone

To update any domain in your Realtime Register account to a Basic DNS-zone, follow the instruction below.

Login to the portal and go to Domains > Domains

Lookup the domain you wish to update to a Basic DNS-zone, open it and click Update

Scroll down to the Nameserver configuration section of the domain update page and select the DNS-zone option and the Basic DNS-tile

Choose the method you wish to insert records with into the to be created Basic DNS-zone (Pre loaded Existing Basic DNS-zone or Template)
Existing Basic DNS-zone

When you update a domain to for which a Basic DNS-zone already exists in your Realtime Register account, updating the domain to the Basic DNS-zone that already exists in your account is plug and play. Just select the Basic DNS-tile and our system will automatically detect the Basic DNS-zone and load it into the Domain update. After selecting the Basic DNS-tile you can click Confirm.

Template option

Important

In case you wish to create a Basic DNS-zone based on a DNS-template during the domain update, you need an existing DNS-template with the records you wish to set in the to be created Basic DNS-zone. In case you do not have a DNS-template with the correct records in it, go to the Create a DNS-template knowledge base article for instructions on how to create a DNS-template

Select the Template option and lookup the DNS-template you wish to use to create the Basic DNS-zone , select it and click Confirm

Click Complete update on the update overview page to complete the update

A message indicating the domain update was successful will be displayed

You've now successfully updated a domain to a Basic DNS-zone that was created during the domain update through our portal
