Customize the update domain approval (new) email

Login to the portal and go to Account > Branding

The update domain approval (new) email is sent to the gaining registrant whenever a domain update results in a material change for the registrant contact details of a domain. The update domain approval (new) email contains a link that links to the update domain approval (new) web page on which the gaining registrant can approve the domain update.

For instructions on customizing the update domain approval (new) email through our portal, follow the steps below;

Important

Customizing full text restricted

You'll notice that none of the default text in the email can be changed. We're required by registry policies to provide registrants with a fixed set of information in the update domain approval (new) email.

Advice on email content

Since no customization to the default texts is possible, add an explanatory text in addition to the default texts provided by our branding system. In the explanatory text, provide information about why the update domain approval (new) email is received by the gaining registrant. The explanatory text may differ to the language set in the brand settings.

Select the brand you wish to make changes for and open the update domain approval (new) email template by clicking on the edit button

On the update domain approval (new) email template detail page, you can apply customization as required

Important

The emails are available as both text-only and HTML email.

If you want to have your registrants informed with text-only email, you will have to keep the HTML version empty. However, if you want to communicate with HTML emails, please fill both the text version content as well as the HTML version.

The update domain approval (new) email template default information cannot be changed. Add explanatory text in addition to the default texts provided by our branding system. In the explanatory text, provide information about why the update domain approval (new) email is received by the gaining registrant

The update preview button allows you to preview the submitted changes to the update domain approval (new) email template on the right side of the screen

To add an image to the update domain approval (new) email, go to the Add images to email templates knowledge base article

Once you've made all the necessary changes, click update template to update the update domain approval (new) email template. A message indicating the update has been completed will be displayed

You've now successfully customized the update domain approval (new) email
