Cancel/resend pending update or validation processes

If an update or validation process is pending, numerous actions on a contact handle cannot be executed because of the pending update/validation. For most gTLD's contact validation is requested automatically once a create or transfer is requested. If a domain holds an inactive status or a domain transfer seems to be stuck, always check if there are validation processes pending for the registrant contact used. You can check if an update is pending by opening the contact handle connected to the domain you're having issues with.

Login to the Domain Manager and go to Contacts

  • Lookup the contact that is causing issues in updating domains for example. If there is an update or validation pending, information regarding the pending status is shown on the contact handle page as shown below.
  • If you wish to cancel/resend the update or validation, simply hit cancel/resend and the update process will be canceled/resent. This will allow you to re-initiate/resend the update without any problems or error messages stating an update or validation process is pending.
