Add Properties

To add additional properties for .LT domains to a contact, follow the procedure below.

  • Lookup the contact you wish to add the properties to and open it. Next, you're going to add additional properties to the contact. In this case, you will choose the LT(domreg) option.Once you've selected the .LT properties, you'll be directed to the page where you can submit the requested information.

  • Fill out the data as requested by the form and click save properties when you're done.
  1. Org code: Submit the VAT organization code in case the registrant is a legal entity.

Register

To create a .LT domain, follow the procedure below:

  • Create a contact handle, or search for a contact handle already created with valid data to use for the create. For a detailed description of how to create a contact handle, check the contacts knowledgebase article.
  • Add additional properties for .LT (domreg) to the Registrant contact.
  • Use the availability checker to determine if the domain is available. If the domain is available, select it to register using the green 'Select to register button'.
  • Submit the details you wish to use for registration. For in-depth support on the registration process, check the register domain(s) knowledgebase article.

Transfer in

To transfer in a .LT domain, follow the procedure below:

Take note: Prior to requesting the transfer it's important that the transfer has been initialized on the Domreg website. In addition, trades are not possible during the transfer and will provide an error when requesting the transfer.

  • Create a contact handle, or search for a contact handle already created with valid data to use for the transfer. For a detailed description of how to create a contact handle, check the contacts knowledgebase article.
  • Have the registrant follow the steps below once he/she has access to his/her Domreg account.

Information on activation of the registrants domreg account is available here.

  1. Have the registrant login to their account on the website www.domreg.lt/registrant, by entering the identifiers (registrant’s ID, i.e. RN[number], and password).
  2. Select menu item “My domains”.
  3. Mark the domain for which you want to transfer the servicing registrar in the section “Initialize”.
  4. Click the button “Initialize transfer”.
  5. Select Realtime Register in the box “New Registrar” of the opened window and click the button “Initialize transfer”.
  6. If procedure is initiated, you see the following message: Domain [domain name].lt can be transferred to registrar Realtime Register.
  • Now you can initiate the transfer through the Domain Manager / API / Third party APP and it will complete successfully. For a detailed description of how to initiate a transfer through the Domain Manager, check the initiate transfer knowledgebase article.
Troubleshooting

ErrorMessage: Transfer is not initialized, registrant will have to initialize the transfer through the Domreg registrant portal first

This error message means that the transfer has not been successfully initiated through the domreg.lt website. Follow the procedure below and try again.

  • Have the registrant login to their account on the website www.domreg.lt/registrant, by entering the identifiers (registrant’s ID, i.e. RN[number], and password).
  1. Select menu item “My domains”.
  2. Mark the domain for which you want to transfer the servicing registrar in the section “Initialize”.
  3. Click the button “Initialize transfer”.
  4. Select the Realtime Register in the box “New Registrar” of the opened window and click the button “Initialize transfer”.
  5. If procedure is initiated, you see the following message: Domain [domain name].lt can be transferred to registrar Realtime Register.
  • Initiate the transfer through the Domain Manager / API / Third party APP and it will complete successfully. For a detailed description of how to initiate a transfer through the Domain Manager, check the initiate transfer knowledgebase article.

ErrorMessage: Transfer is only possible to a registrant with the same (organization) name

This error message means that the registrant name in the registrant contact you have used is not the same as with the current registrar. Create a contact with matching registrant data to successfully request the transfer.


Trade

To successfully change the registrant for a .LT domain, follow the procedure below.

Take note: Prior to requesting the trade it's important that the trade has been initialized on the domreg website, otherwise the trade will fail.

  1. Have the current registrant make a trade agreement with the gaining registrant and then have him/her login to his/her account on the website www.domreg.lt/registrant, by entering the identifiers (registrant’s ID and password).
  2. Select menu item “My domains”.
  3. Mark the domain which rights you want to trade in the section “Initialize”.
  4. Click the button “Initialize trade”.
  5. Indicate the domain gaining registrant’s data in the opened window;
  6. Select whether gaining registrant type is a natural person or legal entity in the drop box;
  7. Enter gaining registrant full name, surname or legal entity’s name (when completing the trade procedure, these data have to coincide with the data provided by the gaining registrant’s servicing registrar);
  8. Enter gaining registrant’s full email address;
  9. Mark, if you want the gaining registrant to be notified about the initiation by email;
  10. Click the button “Initialize trade”. If procedure is initiated, the gaining registrant’s name is indicated next to the selected domain in the section “Initiated transfer”. Also, it is confirmed by the following message: Domain [domain name].lt can be traded to registrant [gaining registrant’s name] using [gaining registrant’s email address] email.
  • Update the domain to the new registrant contact within 7 days after the trade was initiated by the registrant through the domreg website. For a detailed description of how to update domains through the Domain Manager, check the domain update knowledgebase article.

Transfer out

To transfer out a .LT domain you're not going to need an authcode.

To transfer out a .LT domain, have the registrant initiate the transfer through the Domreg website using the procedure below.

  1. Login to your account on the website www.domreg.lt/registrant, by entering the identifiers (registrant’s ID, i.e. RN[number], and password). 2.1. Select menu item “My domains”.
  2. Mark the domain for which you want to transfer the servicing registrar in the section “Initialize”.
  3. Click the button “Initialize transfer”. 
  4. Select the preferred registrar in the box “New Registrar” of the opened window and click the button “Initialize transfer”.
  5. If procedure is initiated, you see the following message: Domain [domain name].lt can be transferred to registrar [name of the selected registrar]. To complete procedure please contact [name of the selected registrar] and order domain transfer.
  6. Once the transfer has been initiated, contact the gaining registrar for the procedure to complete the transfer and have them complete the transfer on their end in 7 days after initializing the transfer. If the new registrar fails to complete the transfer, the transfer will have to be initialized again by the registrant using the Domreg website.
